Southern Music: St. Paul and the Broken Bones -

Haling from Birmingham, Alabama - this soulful sextet takes rock'n roll guitars and lays heavy horns over top and the result is thrilling. Lead singer Paul Janeway has a voice that sounds similar to Blue Traveler's John Popper, but inject some James Brown into that and sprinkle it with Black church choir passion and you'll have an idea of what Paul Janeway's vocal style is. They were featured in Paste's 12 Alabama Band's You Should Listen To Now last year and on NPR's 50 Favorite Songs of 2014 So Far in June of this year.

Enjoy.

Sundae in Savannah

This simple dessert is made of the most Southern of ingredients. All you need is a few scoops of vanilla ice-cream, whole or crumbled Georgia pecans, some sliced Georgia Peaches and some Weeks' Works or Savannah Bee Company honey to drizzle over it all. Voila, you have the perfect treat for any sweltering Southern summer afternoon.
